This piece is a mini magazine inspired by me. The concept for this editorial design is based on my Cape Verdean heritage and my family. The cover is a photo of me holding my native flag. I used various fonts and drew colors from flag to make it the center object. There is an interview piece about my parents and their immigration story, in which I put the photos in Polaroids to give a nostalgic feel. For a creative spread I took the lyrics of a famous Cape Verdean song and mirrored the translation on the other side. I wanted to keep my research article minimal since it was only on one page. Again, I took aspects of the flag to frame the words.
